Join us to celebrate Earth Day, and let’s make the world greener together! Our programs provide free plants to classrooms, and save countless numbers of healthy plants from from being needlessly discarded in dumpsters.

Houseplants have skyrocketed in popularity recently, and we think it’s only natural to provide a way for them to be “recycled” once they’re no longer wanted. After all, each new store-bought plant has a huge environmental footprint from the chemicals used to grow it, the plastics used for its packaging, and the fuel required for its transport from the nursery to a distributor then to a home.

With gardening season here, we’re also encouraging everyone who is thinning out their garden to donate instead of discarding excess plants. There are lots of reasons to donate, and to check for adoptable plants near you before you shop – for example, a plant which grew well on your neighbor’s property is more likely to continue thriving in your garden than a freshly purchased specimen from a far away nursery with completely different weather and growing conditions.
